My dog goes berserk when we play table tennis or pool. What can I do?

He’s a jack russell, and every time he hears a ball hit he goes psycho. His heart pounds, he shakes like crazy, he barks and moans and shrieks like he is possessed. It means that we can’t use our pool table/table tennis table. We have tried giving him a ball to play with, but that doesn’t work. Then we tried giving him snacks and comforting him while we play. Doesn’t work. The only thing we can do is lock him in the car. And that doesn’t work. We are out of ideas. Can someone help me?

    1. Ace Says:

put him in another room, or give him his favourite toy to play with

    2. bad kitty Says:

The room with the dog and your dog and giving attention is ok ignore him tell him tell him in your car also giving treats and not playing table games all day instead.

well, if you play ball with him outside,,and then your playing with a ball in the house..

my guess is hes thinking your playing with him..plus the sound of the ball hitting off the table don’t help much..

maybe if you locked him in a bed room and play the radio in the room with him so he can’t hear the ball..
this is a tuff one on how to handle him.

My experience dogs who have difficulty demonstrating selfcontrol have not be aware of playing andor something to be aware of training with him when hes too far.
