My dog goes berserk when we play table tennis or pool. What can I do?

December 31, 2007 By: admin Category: pool tables 4 Comments →

melbournecupdude asked:

He’s a jack russell, and every time he hears a ball hit he goes psycho. His heart pounds, he shakes like crazy, he barks and moans and shrieks like he is possessed. It means that we can’t use our pool table/table tennis table. We have tried giving him a ball to play with, but that doesn’t work. Then we tried giving him snacks and comforting him while we play. Doesn’t work. The only thing we can do is lock him in the car. And that doesn’t work. We are out of ideas. Can someone help me?

How do I protect my pool table while letting my 3 year old grandson use the pool stick?

December 28, 2007 By: admin Category: pool tables 10 Comments →

Bob M asked:

My grandson is 3 years old, turning 4 later this year. He just loves my pool table, so I try to allow him to play. He does a pretty good job, but still scratches across the felt sometimes. He has not torn or damaged it yet, but it would be just a matter of time if I left him continue like he does. Years ago I had seen a sleeve (I believe it was foam wrapped in vinyl) that slipped onto the end of the stick. It allowed kids to still ht the ball, but prevented the table felt from damage. Does anyone know where I might be able to get one of these sleeves or have any other ideas to protect my table and still allow my grandson to have a good time. Thanks.

What is a good sized pool table for a college game room?

December 23, 2007 By: admin Category: pool tables 5 Comments →

gloworm_59 asked:

I am in charge of purchasing pool tables for our college game room…other colleges I have talked to have 8 or 9 foot tables, but some of the vendors I’ve talked to say that 7 foot is standard, and that the students would actually dislike playing on a bigger table. The cost difference is not big, so what do you think?
Folks have been focusing on 7ft vs. 9ft … What about 8 ft?

Are there any adjustable height wheels I can put under my pool table for easy mobility?

December 17, 2007 By: admin Category: pool tables 5 Comments →

Adarah asked:

I have a full sized, 8 ft, 400lb pool table. It’s in my garage and I used the garage for a new car and had to push the pool table to the side during the winter. I’d like to move it back into position, but I’m afraid that all the moving is bad for the table legs. Are there any adjustable wheels that I could attach to the legs that would withhold that kind of weight?

What is the best kind of pool table to buy for a reasonable price?

Guppy asked:

I would like to buy a pool table for my fiance. Are the glass tops generally better? What should I look for to make sure it will last and will make him go wow without spending a fortune?
