I have a pool table and after yesterday, it has many scratches on it (on top of the felt). how do these scratches affect the pool table? will the value of it go down because of them? is there any way to fix them if they DO have any significance?

yesterday, the table was scratched by the cuesticks b/c i allowed people who were bad at pool to play..
